History of Our Chapter

Dedicated parents founded National PFLAG in 1981.  In 1989, a group of concerned Cape Cod parents started a chapter under the auspices of First Parish Church in Brewster, which also was the first Unitarian-Universalist church in the country to officially welcome gays.

In 1995, National PFLAG chartered the Cape Cod, Brewster, chapter, giving us tax-exempt, non-profit status.  PFLAG chapters are not affiliated with any particular political or religious organization.

We currently have about 70 dues-paying members, and slightly over a hundred on our mailing list.
